The last three weeks have been a marathon run for jurors in the John Goodman retrial case for DUI Manslaughter against Scott Wilson. 2 years have passed since the original trial was held. The Attorney’s on both sides had positive and negative concerns about the time lapse. However, the verdict for this trial was guilty of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide, both with failure to render aid, in the death of 23-year-old Scott Patrick Wilson.

For the defense, an appeal is expected and will come soon.

“We’ll be appealing this verdict based on the substantial issues that we believe are present in this case: The release of the vehicle and the admissibility of the blood results.” – Attorney Elizabeth Parker

The defense argues that Goodman was denied the right to a fair trial as the vehicle he was driving that night was taken out of evidence and destroyed. The premature release cost the defense the ability to further test the 2007 Bentley Continental GTC convertible that malfunctioned prior to the accident. Attorney Parker also spoke frankly with reporters saying that the blood alcohol level test was “likely taken with a needle used for infants” She called the test “Garbage”.

It will be at the judges discretion whether or not the appeal will be heard. As for now, the Criminal Defense Lawyer for John Goodman will plan to be heard again on the substantial issues she claims prevented a fair trial for her client.
